LONDON - The digital music industry seems not very attractive in the year 2010. Even an institution indicate if digital music sales slipped to single digits. This exposure was reported by the International Federation of the pornographic Industry (IFPI), as quoted from Straits Times, Friday (21/01/2011). According to the federation of digital music sales grew only by six percent, or less than half compared to sales growth in 2009. This decrease can be said is the first time since the company started a record label and do believe in the Internet world of digital music sales in cyberspace in 2004. Federation assess the legal digital music market was in number 4, 6 billion and they claim that illegal music content will still be very important to follow up. "As an industry, we remain the industry's most challenging. Because 95 percent of the downloads are no longer licensed," said CEO of the Federation, Frances Moore. IFPI is currently regarded as one of the enemy from taking one's copyright files illegally. Even the majority of the funds claimed to have been used to create the campaign further crack down on music piracy. Fighting piracy and expanding digital market is very important to make up for declining sales in retail brick-and-mortar such as HMV, which earlier this month announced plans to close about 60 of the UK stores. Thomas Hesse, president of global digital business Sony Music Entertainment said the industry had 'fought against the backdrop of the continued decline of the CD, the decline continues to retailers that sell music.
