SAN FRANCISCO - After Google is rumored to be buried in the mobile paymenttechnology Android smartphone. Apple was rumored to be followed.
Launched by Cellular News, on Wednesday (26/01/2011), Apple has plans to embedfeatures of mobile payment using a chip called Near Field Communication (NFC)which will be integrated into the device iPhone iPad 5 and 2.
This statement put forward by Bloomberg News based on comments from thedirector of consulting firm Envisioneering Group, Richard Doherty. According toDoherty, the two devices are expected to be launched soon. At least within the next 3 months.
One of the sophistication offered by the mobile payment services on the Apple deviceis the ability to connect a line payment service on the handset with a detailed billinginformation (billing) stored in the iTunes platform.
With this implementation, Apple could take some 'cake' in the market of mobilepayment transactions worth approximately $ 6, 2 trillion per year, only in the U.S. alone.
Apple's biggest competitor, Google Android, has also implemented the NFC chipset, although hardware support is still limited at this time.
