SANTA CLARA - Intel is ready to seek new partners for MeeGo platform, following a decision Nokia took Microsoft, last week.
Before the announced cooperation with Microsoft, Nokia previously had been planning to develop joint MeeGo Intel platform. But Nokia was more choose to workwith Microsoft to immerse Phone Windows operating system in mobile devices.
Intel chief executive Paul Otellini claimed, for financial reasons have promoted Finnishhandset vendor's decision to hold Microsoft and forget MeeGo.
Otellini said that Nokia's decision to stop cooperation was 'disappointing'. However,he insisted, Intel will seek other partners.
"We definitely get another partner. The operator still wants a third ecosystem, andthey want an open ecosystem. That's what motivate us," he said as quoted byComputer Business Review, Friday (18/02/2011).
Intel claims, MeeGo will be used in a variety of devices, ranging from tablets andmobile phones to televisions and entertainment devices in the car.
