Jakarta - Since Apple iPad birth in 2010, followed by the increasing number ofdevices other ARM processor-based tablet, believed to be increasingly eroded the PC market. This is not directly threatened Intel, which became the main supplier ofPC processors.
The situation looks even more 'hot' with the announcement from Microsoft. The nextWindows operating system promised Microsoft will support the ARM processor.
Yet it appears to the microprocessor giant is not disrupted. As quoted by Reuters onFriday (01/14/2011), Intel's profit surged 48 percent year-on-year in 2010.
Intel CEO Paul Ottelini, also appeared confident with its product that will compete withARM. Ottelini deliver remarks while announcing the performance of Intel in 2010.
"As we have done for decades, we will apply the most advanced technology of silicontransistors in this segment to deliver products that most low-power, high performanceand low cost on the planet," said Ottelini.
At the very least, have prepared a range of Intel Atom that are expected to competewith ARM based processors such as issued by Samsung, Qualcomm or Nvidia.
"When the chips (we made), combined with our support on the main operating systemworld, which has proven ability in creating a broad ecosystem support, andcapabilities of our software grows, I am sure we will be successful in these newsegments," Ottelini explicitly.
